>>12838083In terms of doing a percentage of what the biggest competitor was doing, AEW routinely does better. Where Impact/TNA at their peak did 40% of what RAW did, they'd settled in closer to 20%, and when they moved channel this somehow got worse for them and now they're lucky if they do 10% of what RAW does - and that's not even accounting for the gulf in attendance weekly or at PPVs. AEW to their credit regularly does 50-60% of what RAW is doing and when SDL is moved to to a similar station they end up doing closer to 80%. SDLs biggest advantage is their network so it will be interesting to see how it does on USA, it'll probably settle closer to RAW maybe 1.4m.
TNA was never a worthwhile competitor to WWE and that might be a shock to some people. Their most attended PPV event was 7000 paid and about 1000 comped - there have been RAW tapings that dwarfed that. The thing to remember about TNA is that when RAW was doing 3-4m on TV they were doing what AEW is doing just now, 13 years later with half the cable subs. There was never any great market share available to TNA even when they got guys like Hogan, Cornette, etc. AEW may be a second place promotion but the gulf from WWE to AEW is nowhere near the gulf from WWE to TNA.
