There are still people who will disingenuously pretend that WWE isn't the single most important company and show in wrestling even when the indie scene copies WWE's format and builds its whole arc around Wrestlemania. You can give exception to Mexican and Japanese shows which seem to exist in their own bubble and have a sense of grandiosity in their own right, but all American, British, Australian and other English-speaking feds are literally developmental territories for WWE. Wrestlemania is the ultimate destination and the WWE title is the grand prize of wrestling, everything else is a stepping stone.
