Why do moomers (millennial boomers) hate post-mid 90s rock so much? Such a weird hangup over something that was at worst mostly inoffensive and at times really good.

Even most grunge was absolute DOGSHIT but I guess they wouldn't know since they only listen to a few good songs from four bands.

the term buttrock was originally used for 80s glam/hair bands but yes, it ended up getting moved to the Nickleback/Creed type shit too

Because it was so trash, it lost to 50 Cent and Lil Wayne. You fags need to remember Millennials, Gen Y, whatever the fuck you wanna call them, were also the main ones putting those early 2000s bands over. The thirty year olds grey up during a bad time in music. If they were born in 1994 their childhood had the best music but by 2009 when they were fifteen there were literally no “guitar” bands. Without fail every musician I ever grew up with the had a fender or a Gibson was exclusively into rap by then. They’d still listen to old music and buy vinyl and cassette’s and cds of rock bands and they could play their songs but nobody wanted to write a rock song in 2009 they wanted to rap. Marilyn Manson was the biggest star in the world in 1999 but after columbine any white kids into music were potential school shooters or incels and nobody except me was cool with being labelled that so they all became wiggas or hipsters. Like the white stripes wrote amazing music but they didn’t “say” anything the way rage against the machine or nirvana did. So that’s what happened= late millennial’s grew up during a time when they were told that their life experience was not to be talked about. So they didn’t they either said nothing or they tried to be somebody else.

I hated in 2002 when they started giving every wrestler shitty buttrock themes with vocals. Kane's was the worst but they all sucked. It sucks compared to the purpose-made instrumental character pieces of the 80s and 90s. If you must go with a vocal rock song then at least license an actual popular song like they did for Undertaker and later on CM Punk.
