Someone creates a gimmick, the company owner takes credit and fires the creator and then spends decades moving the IP around with different writers so the story contradicts itself 80 times within 200 issues.
Manga is always that a guy makes something and if it's a serialised manga then that person continues it themselves until they finish the story. Capeshit has no end point and no overarching story, it's just characters doing shit depending on the barely monitored fantasies of whichever geek gets hired to take it over.
I found a podcast a while ago that was supposedly explaining the X-Men and I was hyped to get an easy summary I could listen to while shitting or whatever. Within 3 episodes it was impossible to follow what they were talking about. No one seems able to just chronologically go over the events of the series with a simple overview. These idiots would just go backwards and forwards and spam self gratifying Reddit buzzwords. One of them was a woman who exclusively gave a female perspective and talked about relating to the female characters. Then suddenly became trans and now sounds like someone dying of throat cancer, it's bad audio and it also discredits all of his previous "insights" about female experience.
Wish someone would just do marvel overview podcasts like LPOTL does for serial killers but without the bad comedy and bad research. And comics don't require much research, just read them and tell me what happened.
