Honestly, I haven't run into any diehard FF fans, so I kinda respect it. My issue is that the characters can be aggressively unlikable at times, but that never stopped X-Men from performing, I guess.

I like collecting stuff but for me aesthetics is a big part of what makes collecting a thing cool. Classic comic book covers look cool, this makes for a collection that is cool to look at, those ugly ass CGC boxes completely ruin the aesthetic.

Yeah singles can be a pain to store. But if you want a modest collection you can just buy a bunch of sleeves, you can get a bunch for cheap, they make it easier to store the books, you can take them out the sleeves and read them any time you want and they do an adequate job in protecting the book itself without needing any of this graded bullshit.

I've thought about that. I have mine in a couple of long boxes. And I've thought about getting sleeves but comics are kind of expensive already and it's just a hard pill to swallow that I've got to spend more money to store them properly.

They were never made to be stored and last, the were supposed to be something kids could afford on a regular basis and chucked like old newspapers. Nobody ever really changed the format until graphic novels and online comics became a thing. Storing and keeping individual comics safe and then redoing it after the five minutes it takes to read them is just daft.
