"Slopdown" moving back to Cable takes a lot of the wind out of AEW's sails. Cable TV is all about subscriptions/carriage fees, not ad rates. NBC/Universal doesn't make a play for Smackdown unless they believe it'll increase carriage fees. Will AEW do the same for Warner-Discovery? That's less likely unless and until cable moves to an a la carte structure, which it isn't currently.
Over 95% of cable packages that include NBC/Universal also include Warner/Discovery; and Raw gets nearly 2x the ratings of Dynamite. So where's the value add for AEW, specifically? There's too much overlap there to necessitate offering them big money.
Will they get a deal to keep up with out of control inflation under the potato retard's presidency? Likely. Will it be anywhere near enough to outpace contracts/extensions for MJF, Omega, Bucks, Darby, Guevara, Smoa Joe, etc? Likely not. AEW needs a streaming deal, badly, and they need fans to put their money where their mouths are. They need to convert a lot of watchwrestling fans to paying customers, or it's going to get worse before it gets better.
