I picked up Wrestling Empire last night and it's legit the worst game I've ever played.
I'm sure all of the quirky stuff is cool in theory but the actual gameplay is fucking horrendous.

All it needs is another beefed up storyline or progression mode to make the game engaging. Have exclusive wrestlers that can only be unlocked by beating the storyline.
Unlock Tazz and Excalibur by submitting 3 opponents, or doing 50 total high flying maneuvers on an opponent.
Challenges and unlocks could make it worthwhile playing and keep players engaged as a contingency for lack of online players.
You don't wouldn't need to wrestle other players online to enjoy the game.

Yeah its wrestling engine is pure ass but Empire's all about LARPing as a schizo wrestling star that can throw rivals to their death in front of a train, launch their boss out of an office window after getting denied a pay rise or run out for an unplanned spot in a random match and make a feud of it. It has one of the most oddly compelling story modes out there which is why it's good streamer bait.

Fight Forever is being outsold by a 6 year old Fire Pro game, a 3 year old solo dev game and a 2K game that's almost 12 months old. The only wrestling game it's "beating" on Steam is 3 year old TEW clone with no marketing budget. Despite that, more people are playing it than the FF shitshow.
