>>12904116I'm referring to the amount of TV time, not rights deals. AEW has 5 hours of TV time and 2 hours of ROH. When coupled with their insistence on having 13 minute matches between Dante Martin and Pockets, a match that had no business being more than 8 minutes, you can only get so many talents on the show weekly.
For the people who have no problem getting paid 6, 7 figures to sit in catering after your initial 3-month run? Go for it, sign with AEW. Taya Valkyrie went from fighting the top Women in the world as AAA champion to squashing jobbers on ROH. Probably pays better.
>>12904137.....You do realize how much of a self-own this is, right? AEW has done something like tripled it's payroll since 2021 and yet the ratings are right back where they were years ago. Like imagine being an MLB team bragging about tripling your payroll and all the hot free agents you overpaid, but you still get knocked out in the 1st round of the playoffs.
When the team which just won the championship offers you $2M/year, and a team that didn't even make the playoffs offers you $5M/year, that's not "big leaguing" to take more money to go to the loser team. If every Free Agent could get the Cody Rhodes treatment - walk right back into a main event slot - they'd all do it. But there's only so many slots to go around.
WWE likes who they have, enough where they don't have to overpay for Horsedes. She and her simps can cry (and alternatively gloat) about it all they want, that's reality. You don't make record profits year after year by appeasing fucking marks online for Meltzer stars and bragging rights.
