AEW is more or less incapable of making a profit
Their highest paid stars are injured (Omega, MJF, Cole, PAC, Hayter, Baker) or on the couch most of the time (Bucks, Miro, Saraya). So the people they force on TV all the time (Darby, Lucha Brothers, Orange Cassidy, Kingston, Moxley, FTR, House of Black) are all going to demand massive raises to stick around, and once those get paid, they'll cancel out any TV rights increases
They're doing it to themselves so it's hard to feel sorry for them. The best teams in the NFL/MLB get there on the strength of their draft picks and players they develop, with the occasional free agent. AEW built their whole operation on, lights out....OMG....could it be....it is!...X is All Elite!...and this is the result. They need to let half the 10-15+ year inflated ego veterans go and replace them with guys like Blake Christian, Trey Miguel and Richard Holliday and see what happens. Stop paying 10x what Trey Miguel would cost for Miro so he can wrestle 8 matches per year.
