30 was the perfect spot for him. There were no big returns or shocks in the men's match. If #30 was just some guy, people would've booed. When 29 came out and people knew Cody was the only one left, they had the chance to accept it and then cheer for Cody when he comes out. It also made Gunther look fantastic that he gave Cody such a strong fight even though he had already been in there for an hour. Great showing for them both.

No. When Punk said on Raw that Cody wouldn't stop him from winning, people booed him. They love Cody and want him to finish the story. I don't think he'll win the Rumble though. I think it would be good for his last chance to finish the story to be winning the Chamber match first.

Exactly. You could have put over Gunther and Cody in a big way if they were #1 and #2 and made it to the final two. Cody's win just felt empty the way it was booked.

Not just turn on Cody. If he doesn't beat Roman at Mania then people will turn on WWE. I think Paul knows this too, and he's been very good about paying off stories, and I don't believe he'd throw this great year and a half long story away for a Rock pop. What makes sense is for Rock to wrestle Roman in Australia, and I'm sure Rock will show up at Mania as well. But it will be Cody's match.
