>>12937507There was a show 4(?) weeks ago where the opening quarter drew nearly 1.1 million. That's the quarter AVERAGE, not 1-2 minutes. So even if the Big Bangers did stay tuned for a few minutes, they only counted if they were there for 8+ out of 15
Time and time and time and time and time and TIME AND TIME AGAIN, the AEW audience has shown Tony Khan that they WANT more live mic promo time, especially with their World Champion, whoever it may be. That's especially the case when there's been (or could be) a title change. Pockets for 13 minutes against Bryan Keith IS NOT A MOTHERFUCKING DRAW, it's not fan service, it's goddamn fucking ratings poison. You need your biggest acts running down their opponents (not le sports teams), in the ring, every fucking week. It doesn't have to be 10 of them, but if it's not 2-3, you're doing it wrong
Dynamite next week SHOULD open with Samoa Joe doing an in-ring promo, but anyone who has watched more than 3 episodes of Dynamite in their lifetime knows that won't happen. Even if it made sense -- Joe talks about how HOOK is a great young talent, all the potential in the world, future World Champion, but tonight isn't your night, kid. I didn't work this hard just to let some TWINK take this strap from me. The only strap you're going to be taking is ... etc etc" -- but it's not happening.
Opening match will be Swerve vs Komander, or some goddamn bullshit that makes you want to blow your brains out. It'll take Swerve 12 minutes to put him away, but we'll be told Swerve is a credible threat to Samoa Joe. We might get a backstage 30 second videos from Joe/Hook, 1:40:00 of forgettable garbage, and then the main event. Just asinine. 825k show if they're lucky
Is this 2000 yet? Fucking hell it's hard being an AEW Fan. I'll still watch this shit though.
