Hit your beats, portray your character and keep it simple. Make the audience pop for your character, not your flips.
I see this kind of thing in training matches all of the time. I used to think "oh that's cool, they just want to practice this weird/crazy spot", but then I saw them do it on every little show. Usually moves that didn't make sense, required the opponent to do something odd that they don't normally do, and ignoring any selling or damage accumulated during the match.
