Also, they just didn't want to pull the trigger on him for some reason. He could've easily won the WHC back after that concussion and gotten mega-over. Later on, when they were passing the title around every indie shitter and NXT-darling, it made sense for him to finally win the big one. He probably should have gotten Kofi's run, but WWE clearly wanted to pad the number of black champions so the word-sayer got passed over yet again.
