Ricky Starks was an NWA guy. So was Eli Drake, but he got a better offer from the WWE.
MJF made MLW worth watching, and he vaulted headlong into AEW's wallet the moment he could.
And NJPW? They had something growing there in America, but because all the top gaijin fucked off to AEW, and now some of their sawdusted guys are coming over to AEW for that payday the Japanese promotions won't afford them, their international allure is gone.
Tony Khan killed the indies... not that many of those were breathing often anyway...
