I really don't think they would've announced it like this if it was AEW. This was nothing like the Ospreay announcement, and NJPW would've immediately coped by saying that Okada would still be working NJPW dates like they did with Will.

If it's AEW, it'll be a massive fucking betrayal in my opinion and should absolutely end all business relations between the two companies. I would completely lose respect for NJPW if it was AEW and they stuck with it, just for the Forbidden Door money.

Yup. I don't think they still even need AEW's money at this point. Everything is back to as it was before. If they still want to keep the partnership, they can leverage for more power now (but honestly I'd just want them to cut ties if AEW managed to snag Okada)

Haven't been watching consistently but I know his slump storyline is still ongoing and has been going on too long. He as a character is a more natural fit to lead the UE than Cobb and he could be a kino machine if used properly. I'd rather they tweak the gimmick than get rid of it; demphasize the goofier spots and let him lean on his grappling; the weird techniques he used in the ZSJ matches actually fit the gimmick of this foreign Mongolian warlord who knows these weird grappling techniques from the steppe. I hope he at least challenges Naito, their matches have been fun.
GOK really does have strong charisma that comes out when he has the opportunity to do more character moments rather than going through the motions in multiman tags; he has way more potential than I think most people give him credit for.

Not that it isn't the least important title in the company, but he's at least challenging for the KOPW title tomorrow. If Gedo lets him lose to Ishimori then that will basically signal that Gedo has nothing for him. I'm not expecting Gedo to push him, I'm just saying I want it to happen.
