I'm pretty sure it's the first one but the second one sounds right to me but that might be a holdover from when it was WWF

And you are right, when it the WWF it was correct to say

World Wrestling Entertainment is a singular corporate entity and is treated as a singular noun. Thus there is no "the" in front of it when referring to it.

The World Wrestling Federation is implied to be a collective entity and is thus a collective noun. So you will put "the" in front of it like you would put it in front of "the New York Yankees".
