>>13016633Seff/Jinder did a better job of establishing Jinder as a challenger and furthering the storyline. Visually the two match up well with the challenger looking more impressive than the champion.
Joe/HOOK in a vacuum was a better match. Problem is, wrestling doesn't work that way (unless you're a Memester cultist). Joe is the newly crowned world champ, presumably at the tippy top of AEW, but he had a relatively even match with a midcarder whom he outweighs by over 100 lbs. HOOK even kicked out of the muscle buster at 1.
Bottom line: Joe/HOOK failed because it made the new world champ look like the new world chump AND it added another loss to HOOK, who's win/loss record is part of his gimmick. Neither of these guys came out looking better. They both look worse. Seff/Jinder did the opposite, worse match from a workrate perspective but both guys looked better both during and after the match, and it furthered their feud well, albeit Seff's injury may ruin it if its legit.
And for the record, out of all 4, my favorite wrestler is Samoa Joe, and my least favorite is Seff "dancing fool" Rollins. But AEW really is dropping the ball with Joe's reign already and I'm pissed.
