Most of my fellow millennials but definitely all zoomers and beyond are only capable of viewing every issue through a combative, team sports kind of lens: there is team A and team B, or brand A and brand B.
Only one can be right and the other isn't just wrong -- they're your enemy. The other team are entirely dehumanized by the mentality itself, so you get endless console wars in almost every aspect of life.
I think this conditioning was meant to smooth out our acceptance of the two party political system (the illusion of Team Red and Team Blue) but somehow, it's infected every facet of modern opinion: politics, hobbies, you name it.
