Triple H in 2000 was the equivalent of Edge in 2006, he failed miserably in 1999 but when he paired with Stephanie he was getting nuclear heat. That year he was genuinely really good up until Backlash when everyone wanted him to fuck off from the main event afterwards. Angle was never remotely over like that.
