>>13039088Yes? You get good matches on Raw and Smackdown occasionally and it's a nice surprise but generally speaking I want matches to be built up with some sense of importance. It's all well and good getting in the ring and doing a bunch of moves but the whole point of wrestling is that it combines sports with drama, to where you give the matches context so that each of those moves means something.
I actually quite like the Rampage model where it's a short show, only an hour long, featuring just exhibition matches and some of them are quite fun. But I don't want the entire TV product to be that. WWE might benefit from having a show like that but the major shows would still need to be focused on building up to the PPV.
Imagine if you went to the cinema to watch an action movie and right from the opening credits it's nothing but explosions and people shooting each other from start to finish, no characters or story or intrigue, just nothing but explosions and shooting. Yeah sure the big action fight sequence at the end is the exciting part you're waiting for but it's given context by the rest of the film building up to it.
