>Doesn't get signed after leaving TNA>Actually get lowballed>Gets signed after his NJPW run>DUDE TNA GOT HIM SIGNEDIt clearly fucking didn't. He didn't get paid what he wanted until after his run in NJPW.
>>13041922So why didn't they sign him then? They gave him a low offer after his TNA run for a reason.
His NJPW run is what ended up making him more money. Again, people forget that guys who are bigger stars than AJ like Angle, RVD and Jeff would constantly be asked when they were coming out of retirement, because TNA was irrelevant to fans at the time.
I'm not fucking denying that it didn't help AJ, but Dave is right in that NJPW helped him get noticed way more than TNA. He wouldn't have even been given a big offer without that run.
Everything else just screams as you guys watching a TNA compilation or something, because AJ was a prominent guy, but I wouldn't say he was the most pushed from the late 2000s early '10s. Up until his run he was basically a lackey for various groups, won the belt, then went back to doing just that or shit like Claire Lynch.
He was their most reliable guy that can go anywhere on the card, but he wasn't getting pushed over guys like Hardy, RVD, Sting or Angle.
If he came in 2013-14, he would not get the reaction he got in 2016. That's just fact. The audience was still largely casual.
