Regardless, this isn't just broadcasting a signal into the ether like broadcast TV -- Netflix can track watch time down to the second, per subscriber, worldwide. If WWE signs up X amount of new subs, who watch an average of Y minutes, they're going to get fat checks. They wouldn't agree to the deal otherwise.
If Mercedes/Okada/Giulia want to be worldwide superstars.....let's hope none signed the mark contract, at least not yet. Warner-Discovery's average estimate is to MAYBE break-even in Q4 2023, and that's after deeply slashing budgets. They're squeezing Tony to take a smaller deal in 2024 and beyond, if AEW does get a Max Streaming deal it'll be mostly incentives/low guarantees......it's just not looking good.
