This anon gets it. If Cena really didn’t can consider working for other companies, he would. But considering during his entire tenure in WWE, there was literally no one to jump ship to. Where was he gonna go? ROH? TNA? If AEW existed like 10-12 years ago and was as hot as it was when it started, I can see Cena CONSIDERING the thought of going to AEW. He’s ready to retire now. He’s putting young guys over. Cena is the ultimate WWE lifer. Molded by WWE, pushed to the moon and back by WWE, John Cena is WWE.

They need to if they want to be profitable. Give him the WCW Hogan contract for 3-5 years. Turn him heel or as heel as you can be in AEW at the 2 year mark.
They would also need to restructure the entire, no more move exhibitions. Big stars should squash nobodies, not have 50/50 exchanges with them and then barely win by the skin of their teeth. Guys need to use their TV time to make an emotional connection with the audience, not just do the smark approved movez. Also no more women's division.
After Cena drawing the house for a couple of years the rest of the roster will be ready to step up and take the reigns.

I see where one can think this, but Edge was not doing the stuff outside of the ring, Cena is doing. Cena was shaking every little jimmys hand after every show, making everyone else who does Make A Wish look like a fucking joke, and spending so much time traveling to other countries representing WWE. Edge didn’t do any of that. If Edge left WWE before his semi retirement, I would not have been shocked sincere Christian did it. Edge going to TNA would have happened if he didn’t think he was done for the rest of his life.

I would mark the fuck out if AEW landed John Cena as Peacemaker. If AEW had some Chris Chan-esque dimensional merge where DC superheros crossed over with wrestling, I seriously wouldn't mind if the wrestling was good. Imagine having something like Rey Fenix vs someone playing Judomaster, it could be like a Tiger Mask/Justin Liger situation where the matches are so good that you don't care if it's from a TV show or movie.

Tweet James Gunn, David Zaslav, and Tony Khan this idea. We accepted the Undertaker and Kane for years, we are a forgiving bunch if it looks cool.
