It's a day before the Superbowl which is taking place like 20 minutes away from there. Of fucking course this was always going to fail, the whole week there will be about nothing but football. This isn't like booking on Wrestlemania weekend in the same state because you know it's full of wrestling fans willing to spend money. This is actually retarded.
These decisions are made months in advance, so I don't know when the new guys calls will start coming into action, but holy fuck they clearly should have fired the last guy in charge of live events sooner. I want to believe he was just trying to burn everything on his way out of the door, because if not he had no idea about what the fuck he was doing.

Sure, but they were still drawing 6-8k a show in their worst days. AEW isn't doing anything close to that on a weekly basis.

No, Jarrett was put in charge of house shows. Then house shows tanked because Kenny, The Bucks, Page, Moxley and really anyone noteworthy refused to work house shows. Fans didn't want to show up to shows main evented by Darby Allin vs Shawn Spears.

They're there for the Superbowl, they already have plans for that week. They're not going to fit in a 3 hour show the night before which requires buying another ticket for.
It works for Wrestlemania because they are actually wrestling fans and the extra shows in the weekend are part of the plans.

If you can't get 3-4000 people out of 2.2 million in the immediate area, you're doing something very very wrong. Fans have seen what AEW Collision is - it's just "a night of wrestling action!" with random mid-carders and jobbers. Major feuds don't happen there. Bucks/others think they're too important to work Saturdays. It's just a filler program in general. The issue isn't the price - it's investing 5+ hours of free time to commute, watch a WCW Saturday Night-tier show, and go home.

Those are after papers. They were basically selling the same amount as AEW, and that's when wrestling was really fucking hot.

It's bad for AEW, but people don't understand how much of a dumpster fire WCW was at the end. They went from owning the Wrestling business to losing $70 Million in two years.
