The plan from Day 1 with Punk in WWE is that he wouldn't be appearing/wrestling weekly, so it makes sense he'd go hard in the gym. But going hard has consequences, especially when you're lifting heavy weight for low reps to build strength. No way Punk is spending all that time in the gym doing 20-rep sets on machines to get a pump, he was doing legit compounds (Bench, Military, Pullups, Deadlift, etc). Sucks but probably just an overuse injury.
