>>13201928>Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game on GenesisIt's great, but it's never really been a wrestling game. The presentation was always mind-blowing for a Genesis game, with the MK style sprites and Vince shouting his head off, but none of that makes it an actual wrestling game. It's just a fighting game with WWF presentation.
The actual best WWF game on Genesis was WWF: Raw, the final game of the 16-bit WWF trilogy. Whereas WWF Super Wrestlemania and WWF Royal Rumble are kind of crap, with no unique movesets for wrestlers, after two games the nailed it with Raw. Especially the Genesis version which runs at a higher resolution and frame rate than SNES. Furthermore, it's not a standard "bad genesis port" the music and color choices are top notch. Special moves, weapons, free movement in and out of the ring, referees that actually matter, crowd reacts to in ring action. As for the controls, it's not No Mercy or HCtP, but who cares? It's not any worse than Smackdown vs Raw's tapping and timing based bullshit.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnraNCdL9t8It's no Fire Pro, nothing on Genesis is, but it was definitely the best wrestling game anybody actually had in the 90s and we played it until WCW vs NWO and WWF: Attitude came out.
