The truth is, when WCW eventually dropped the NWA affiliation and titles, the NWA titles dipped considerably in prestige. Instead of legends like Ric Flair, Harley Race, and the Funk brothers, the world went to dimeless midcarders like Shane Douglas and Chris Candido. The TNA years were better, but short lived. And then the NWA got it back and now the lineage is muddied with crap like Adam Pearce as a 5 time world champion!
Sorry mate, but no one is buying that legends like Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant "don't matter" to wrestling history but nobodies like Adam Pearce and Tyrus do.
