I lived through the Attitude Era when EVERYBODY was aware of the big stars and wrestling was actually mainstream. Like others have said, that ended around 2002.

No one I know watches it, my Dad used to but that was back in the Golden Age of WWF. I tried showing him a few PPVs but he'd end up laughing at all the grown men who bought their mothers to the shows. The only person I've seen with any kind of wrestling merch was a guy in a WM39 shirt and I haven't seen him since.

I thought about it, and 1997-2002 is six years. That's on par with people watching a popular TV show. Hell, Raw has 52 eps per year so that's >300 episodes. That's like 12 seasons of network television. It's a good run.
