>>13213138The first 3 ideas here sort of tie in together: running bigger arenas (14-20k) is fine but you need more advertising, much lower ticket prices, etc - and try to make up the balance by having more merch available......OR you run smaller arenas (5-10k), raise the prices but the tickets feel much more exclusive so you can justify it.
For AEW/ROH split, it'd be great if it tied into the ROH rankings somehow. You can have talent sent down/called up like AAA/MLB or G-League/NBA, and try your best to write the shows 4-6 weeks out with minimal overlap. It doesn't kill you to have talent spread across all 4 shows (3xAEW, 1xROH), what kills you is large gaps of your most popular performers not appearing, or not having a match.
Toni Storm has yet to wrestle this year. Really? Toni+Mariah May vs Renegade Twins, 7 minute match just to get her in the ring, in front of the paying fans. I never thought I'd say this, but they're actually doing too much Sports Entertaining with her and not enough wrestling
Meanwhile Hobbs has had 1 (one) match on AEW this year, Bryan fucking Keith has had 3. You give him Big Black and Jacked catchphrase, print up shirts, and then..........don't let him wrestle any matches????
AEW have far better wrestling talent than WWE, but WWE and AEW are nowhere near each other in terms of booking the cards so all the stars appear, merch gets pushed, the shows are announced/promoted months in advance, all the stuff that it takes to put butts in the seats
Next weeks Dynamite looks like an awesome card, announced well in advance. I really really hope they're able to capitalize. AEW needs momentum right now.
