I know it's an overused term these days, but the way commentary talks about Roman as being undefeatable, and the greatest of all time just comes across as gaslighting at some point. He hasn't won a match cleanly in years. He hasn't wrestled at all on TV in over a year. He shows up on Smackdown like once or twice a month to cut the same "Acknowledge Me!" promo over and over. It's lame as hell. In any other era, commentary would be chewing him out for being a chicken shit heel that rarely wrestles and only wins by cheating. I don't get it. I guess it's just about moving merch with contrarian, "Actually, I like teh bad guys!" marks?
The fact that Roman can go weeks without showing up on Smackdown, and when he finally does appear it doesn't pop a rating proves demonstrably that he's not a draw. You could have seriously plugged anyone into Roman's spot 3 years ago and it would have made no difference.
