Penta and Fenix were the hottest acts outside of WWE in the western promotions when aew started. Tony had then diminished as tag team jobbers within 6 weeks and all they did for a year after that was attack people backstage for no reason and then job.
Moxley was mega over and now he's some opening match clown who has his own special rules where every match has 10 minutes of bad brawling.
Takeshita was the face of a company and a proven draw at a level equivalent to what aew were doing at their best. He has more main event experience than anyone in aew besides Sting. They had him job out for over a year despite being massively over anyway and then he got one win against Brian Cage, who also is underused (but not as criminally because he sucks) and was the only guy who lost more often than Takeshita. He then turned heel, beat Omega and not happened.
Darby was mega over multiple times but he just bounces around in the midcard doing nothing of note.
They push Orange Cassidy as some workhorse while keeping his lazy gimmick so it makes no sense and so no one can connect to him. Pick one or the other.
Shibata fucking returned from a near death injury and jobbed to Orange Cassidy and Wheeler Yuta. Shibata was at one stage the most respected wrestler in the world.
Then you have fucking Edge, the Hardys, etc. No one cares about them. They were literally the most popular wrestlers on earth at one stage and Tony made them meaningless.
Ospreay is about to come in, turn on Callis and bury Takeshita and Hobbs and then mean nothing by the end of it.
You have Pac, who was the longest reigning DG champion ever when he debuted with aew and he is a recurring random part timer who feids with Orange Cassidy once a year.
Wardlow got massively over and got booked into irrelevancy.
Imagine being so bad at booking that you have some of the most popular and biggest stars of the past 20 years and make all of them mean nothing. It's depressing.
