3 year deal with player option (for big $$$) - if he feels like it's not working out, then before the 2 year 6 month mark, let WWE know he's out. They have 6 months to work him out of storylines, move the merch, etc. If it is working, then exercise that 1 year option/extension while working on a long-term deal
If WWE says 4 years, take it or leave it, that's much trickier. WWE isn't going to have him doing a Phoenix Splash off the top rope or taking Dragon Suplexes and Poison Ranas. Much safer, shorter matches, likely keep his own name, if nothing else he just sort of treads water and then waltzes into AEW for millions. And by then, maybe guys like Swerve, Wardlow, Darby, MJF, etc, are household names and not just secondary promotion guys.
