1. He was a lying adulterous sack of shit but a charismatic sack of shit too and the people wanting him gone were the type of obnoxious anti-fun pieces of shit fundies who, even if they were right about Clinton being horrible and a sexual pervert, were so obnoxious and vile that NO ONE wanted to say they were right and kick Clinton out of the white house and give them the smug satisfaction of being acknowledged they were right.
2. The 90s under Clinton but especially the late 90s under Clinton, were such a golden age of prosperity and a period of peace and stability, that as a nation, we all collectively and both consciously/unconsciously, made a deal with the proverbial devil where in exchange for giving Clinton and infinite pass on his shitty behavior and treatment of women, we were allowed to keep the golden age going and not throw the nation into utter chaos by forcing him out of office.
3.The only reason Clinton survived Monicagate, was due to the fact that Hillary, after spending most of 1998 believing that Bill was innocent and having any illusions of innocence destroyed when the cum stained dress was discovered and turned over to the feds, opted to stay with Bill rather than immediately file for divorce. Granted this was 100% due to the fact that top Democrats cut a deal with her to fully support a Clinton restoration with her as a NY Senator then President, to buy her off. But had Hillary walked, it would have been the ultimate vote of no confidence against Bill and all support for him would have disappeared immediately and Bill would have been forced to resign to avoid being impeached.
