It wasn't her being demoted, because she was actually willing to go to OVW. She wanted to train and get better after the bad Mania match she had that year.
She basically said some things happened and she was let go. People thought she got close to HHH and Stephanie got pissed, but I doubt that would get her fired. Probably just moved to a different show... or sent to developmental. It was more than likely something with Vince. Hemme was in Playboy that year and outside of Trish and Lita, the biggest diva at the time.
