I really like Joe, so that's kind of based. But it speaks to AEW's shit roster there's nobody I'd actually have in his place except for another older guy that has been everywhere, Christian.
At some point we just have to accept that wrestlers under 30 are shit.

Switchblade should have been the one to beat MJF. His run could have been from November-March and he could have lost it to Swerve at Revolution. Would have been better than a 6 week Samoa Joe run.

When they found out MJF was injured enough that he'd have to drop the belt, they should have pivoted and had either Jay White or Swerve completely squash him and have the storyline be that he lost his edge and turned into a clown because of the friendship shit

though it does show that they don't have proper homegrown talent to hold the belt it's fine. Joe is a great wrestler, one of the greats even. Fact that he can be a believable champ at his age despite the nonsensical booking is a testament to his abilities.

You know what's worse? The only guy who can be a legitimate champion is Christian Cage. The 24/7 meme title is worth more than AEW's world title after it suffered for a year under MJF.
