>>13239384I get that this thread is full of zoomer trash, shut ins that live in flyover states and europoors, you lack the ability to understand why a place can be special. NYC is a gnarly place but it is one of the cultural capitals of Planet Earth. If you live on Planet Retard it’s hard to wrap your head around it.
The Garden is far from the nicest mid-large arena in the country but it has the most history and it’s not even close. Ali fought Frazier there, The Pope got one of the biggest pops in history when he made his first American trip. Some of the most valuable sports franchises in the world have their home games there and it’s been home to legendary moments in sports. It brings out the best in players from rival teams, the NCAA tournament always plays through the Garden at some point. The biggest acts in music have all played it and packed it, and if you aren’t ready for the arena the Felt forum is there.
I know it gets touted as an accomplishment, selling out the Garden, but it’s really not that hard. The Knicks haven’t had a real team in 25 years and they sell out every single game, probably because the majority of the people who go to MSG aren’t native New Yorker’s. It’s a place where almost every single night 20k people from all over the world get together to be entertained, the people that bring their A game become legends, and their performances legendary. In ape-hoop people still talk about Linsanity to this day, just because some tiny gook had a few games at MSG.
