It's even worse this time because the entire television product has been building to Reigns vs. Cody II for the last year with multiple staredowns and a back-to-back Royal Rumble win. So in essence they threw out their own plan, and not just a "VINCE REWRITES RAW!!" plan, but literally an entire year worth of build.
In 2014 their plan was Orton vs. Batista and tv reflected that, but Bryan got too hot so they eventually pivoted.
