Sure you may hear a vague rumor about corporate doing something, but they are always doing something. You think you got it going good, you're doing your job better than most. Then at the last fucking minute you get pulled into a conference room with no warning. Its just you and multiple, usually as many as they can often specifically people you don't personally know, suits and they take turns telling you whats going to happen and how you're going to get screwed and you always have the option to leave but severance package sucks. You never really get a chance to talk, and while your still shocked they get you to sign some shit that screws you over. It works the first time because you've never dealt with that before. They know it only works on each person once before the employee realizes just how badly they got fucked. They do it at the end of your shift so you're tired. They rehearse how the meeting is going to go. They tell you sweet platitudes and flattery inbetween telling how you're going to be fucked and it ain't until you get to the parking that it sinks in. Sure, you can immediately start looking for different work, but they got you to sign that shit because you were unprepared. Fuck suits bro. This shit happens in every company.
