He doesn't care for the lore which fans pay to read and see, until and unless he can self-insert and put himself over.
Then he'll add some creative ideas which often ruin the franchise he's working in, just so he can say he did that and everyone should credit him for its success.
That's when when his work sucks and fails to get over, he's paralytic with fear on social media.
And when Dwayne's getting called out in promos, you see him thinking to himself "is he working or shooting" and fail to remember it's a work. Hits the ego.
