There's one thing I don't get out of this whole situation. If the original plan was for CM Punk to go after Seth's title, and all of this shit happened because Punk got injured, why didn't they just have Drew McIntyre go after the title instead? He beats Seth at Mania, they have a program, and it sets up for CM Punk's return against McIntyre.
Switching Cody to going after Seth makes no sense. Seth and Cody finished their feud with Cody convincingly beating Seth even with a torn pec. He's literally above this. And for what, what does he do after this?
WWE is currently sabotaging:
- Rock, damaging his reputation
- Reigns, if he loses the "head of the table" while still holding the championships it just makes him weaker. If he wins then it was all pointless
- Cody, didn't finish his story
- Seth, lose/lose for him regardless if he wins or loses to Cody
- Punk, dimensioning his return by keeping McIntyre cold during his absence. Since his most likely return feud is McIntyre
- McIntyre, kept away from main event level and championships while he continues to flounder
All of them suffer because of Rock vs Roman and Seth vs Cody. All the championships involved mean less, Wrestlemania is worse especially when everyone shit's all over both matches.
