He chased the most fickle and disloyal demographic of all to make up the core of his fanbase. Once you're considered washed with them, you can't recover. The biggest mistake he made with WWE is trying to apply the persona of that world to wrestling, and with all his experiences of being booed, to rescuing himself with great heel runs, he should have figured out by now that this incarnation of The Rock wouldn't work out. I guess some people never learn.

I was a huge Rock fan from 98 to 2002. I also enjoyed his first return in 2012. Since then, his schtick has grown tired and repetitive. He comes back, panders to the fans as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and has buried talent a few times. He's overexposed, and I think even WWE fans are starting to get tired of him.

His comeback to wrestling is akin to being on the ropes and now he makes this monumental politicking mistake.

And since Rock is "The People's Champ" it would be vise to listen to them. But we know it's not gonna happen, aswell as Rock turning heel. They could salvage it if Cody turns heel and cost Rock the title at Mania, but since Cody is basically a "babyface for life" that's not gonna happen either. I hate to say it, but if Punk weren't injured, I think the plan would've been Punk vs Seff and Cody vs Roman with possibly getting Rock vs Roman the next years Mania and now have to improvise and pull that match to a year earlier because glass bones Punk can't even sneeze without injuring himself.

That's what happens when you have the goodwill of the people, you have credit and people will defend you and want you to succed. Are you dense? Have you no friends and family to understand this basic social stuff?
The Rock simply exhausted that goodwill by making mistake after mistake and now the gig is up. He's on notice.
I don't hate and i don't want him to get hate, but Dwayne overplayed his hand, whatever happens next is simple consequence.
