You're right. Every match has to end in a finisher or a flash pin. Sometimes something like a superplex can be the right move to end a match.

With the right set up you can end a match on anything. What really matters are signature moves, which are a very important part of a wrestler's character in ring which can and often should finish matches due to that wrestlers mastery of the move, but it shouldn't happen so often that it becomes unrealistic. Sometimes signatures should be used as transitional moves and more common moves should finish matches, like DDTs or powerbombs. Gunther is very good at this.

It depends on the finisher and the selling. the biggest problem today is that old finisher moves like Clothesline and Superkicks, both of which were seen as legitimate ways to kill people, are being spammed endlessly
