Build up solo as the successor to Roman who wants the title back. He would never win but it could be worthy of a 3 month programme ending at a B PPV or at the Royal Rumble where the WWE championship match doesn’t have to be the main event
I’d love to see him and LA Knight interact with the WWE championship on the line. LA Knight would kill him in promos but Cody would kill him in the ring. Would involve turning 1 of them heel though
CM Punk is another obvious choice
Maybe Drew but that might be a bit boring
While Cody can have proper dimes programmes with mainstream stars he could also easily have smarkbait programmes with Okada, Sami, Balor
I’d also love to see his match against Omos and his promo battles against Miz
There’s definitely enough opponents already for an interesting 2-3 years of Cody as the top guy (that’s mostly due to the backlog caused by Roman hogging the strap)
