>>13292323Most detailed wrestling history you will read or hear on a podcast, at least for US wrestling, was originally research Meltzer did for the Observer. To the extent that almost everything that isn't from "The Fall Guys" or some other out-of-print wrasslin history book from 50 years ago is Meltzer research. That sounds like bullshit if you're only aware of the dirtsheet aspect of the Observer, where he often gets fed bullshit rumors from WWE/AEW employees, but he's been the only serious wrestling research in the US/Canada for like 30 years. All these "serious wrestling journalists" that have cropped up in the last year will openly tell you they're trying to do version of the Observer with less rumors.
So he's autistic as fuck, and a terrible writer. But he's still THE wrestling historian for North America. No matter how many promos Bischoff and Cornetty cut on him to promote their podcasts. If you ever needed confirmation that no normalfag journalists give a fuck about wrestling, you should be convinced by the fact that a better writer never replaced Meltzer.
