The closest we've gotten to a bidding war in recent memory was Jade Cargill, who all sides admit AEW kept continuously raising their offer to her...but she chose exposure+some cash over more cash. Jay White, Ospreay, etc, the only indications we've gotten is that WWE was interested (at the right price) and AEW was interested (at a commitment-level price)
Tony doesn't have stockholders, so he can lose tens of millions for years to come and doesn't have to answer to anyone. Great news for any talents, Main Event-level or otherwise, who are able to lock in contracts and get paid.
