>“They are cold, boy are they cold and how to change that? Man, that’s hard to do... Edge there... it didn’t move a lot of tickets. Edge is a good performer and he’s a good talker and everything like that but it’s not Punk as far as a game changer.” (WOR) >On Raw, there was 10,000 people, you know, and here’s the other thing, whatever they’re doing, it’s sure working. Tonight’s show, just a couple of days ago, they had, 7600 tickets out. There are over 10,000 people there tonight. I mean, you don’t move that many tickets from Friday to Monday, ever. So whatever it is, people are buying this thing. They are paying to see it. You know, I think that there’s going to be a ton of people at T-Mobile Arena on Thursday.” (WOR)

>>13303801 Unironically I miss the Cody era of AEW. Sure you had shitters like joey janella and that niggerfaggot on there, but you also had shit like Cody and Dustin having their feud, the Dark Order actually being menacing, Kenny Omega being the final boss of the promotion.
Everything went to shit when WWE fired all those shitters that had been dragging down their ratings and Tony vacuumed them all up. Having Cody quit was just the cherry on this shit sundae. The promotion has never recovered from it.

>>13303752 Speak for yourself. His run right now is great. He looks genuinely motivated and hasn't had a bad match. I don't know why people are still having this discussion.. There's no such thing as a draw anymore. The WWE brand is the draw. AEW could have Roman and Cody and Heyman booking and it wouldn't mean fuck all.

I'd assume nearly all of those people would have went to the show without Sasha there as it also had Okada, Tanahashi, ZSJ, Eddie Kingston, Jay White, KENTA, and some others. If people want to pretend Sasha is the one that drew the entire 2k herself, or pretend 2k is an impressive number because they are mentally ill whatever I guess.

AEW marketing sucks balls. Not just promoting shows way too late but also the presence of their characters. AEW used to create buzz with the return of CM Punk and Forbidden Door 1 but once those things passed they all needed to find a way to sustain relevance. Collaborations with other promotions have been their advantage but they need to find ways to maintain relevancy in modern conversation

Too many AEW guys are given too much freedom without having the ability or creativity to get over themselves. That's why Cody Rhodes is a bonified yes man for WWE, he learned his lesson in AEW and as a result he knows he's better off doing what the company tells him what to do.
