Sr. was the kind of guy who wanted to promote upstanding men like Bruno Sammartino and Bob Backlund, and they were more like his sons than Jr. ever was.
Yet he still deep down had enough love for his son to at least try to help him get out of going further down a darker road, so he allowed him in the business to pass the torch.
He would have never approved of any of the things Jr. did, any of it. But Sr.'s life story is long over.
