>>13331812For the amount of Queen Aminata and Rocky Romero types, who aren't on the roster but appear constantly, along with the constant use of jobbers.....too many. Daniel Garcia lost *57%* of his matches in 2023 and he's all over the TV, and the fans cheer for him because fans like to be FAMILIAR with talents, even if they lose more often than not. My question is: why can't that be Ethan Page? Why did someone higher-up decide it's better for him to sit at home or be on ROH? Why do you bring in Bryan Keith and put him all over AEW TV instead of guys you already have? Makes no sense.
That's where (forgive me for saying it) WWE has AEW beat. WWE will give you Hobbs vs Ethan Page in a feud for MONTHS, on TV and House Shows, trading wins back and forth, to get both guys in the ring as much as possible. OTOH, AEW will hide guys like Hobbs for months in multi-mans and squash matches, then we all act surprised when Hobbs sucks in Singles PPV matches. Absolutely infuriating and not his fault at all, he needs more reps. He needs to GROW INTO being a monster, not merely be presented as one while barely wrestling.
I'm here holding out hope that Dynamite starts adding a 2nd women's match weekly, and Collision keeps having 2 women's matches like they have for several weeks now. More women's fans in the audience (and online/TV ratings) will force AEW to become more well-rounded. Tony will never hear the end of it if there's dozens of women/girls going to Dynamite dressed up as Mercedes Moné or rocking her shirts/glasses, only for her to appear in a 30 second backstage pre-tape. If Mercedes becomes the template for talents like Ospreay, Okada, etc, going forward, that's great. If she only shows up once a month, VERY BAD.
