>>13335145Dwayne politicked his way into the main event and is obviously in cahoots with Roman. His goal was either to give Roman the rub or have Roman lay down for him. Either way they'd both get a big pay day, and they'd leverage their influence into taking over the WWE entirely.
Dwayne probably went to Cody and tried to persuade him out of the main event. Fed him lies about how Roman couldn't be beaten as long as the Bloodline existed, and that if he stepped aside he'd "take care of" the Bloodline. Probably promised him his match for the title at MSG or something, so he could finish the heckin story in the same arena where Dusty had the title taken from him.
Cody was probably taken in at first, but after seeing the outpouring of support and outrage from the fans, and taking counsel from whoever else, he started to have doubts. Those doubts were solidified when he saw Dwayne go out on stage and start talking about "muh Bloodline" and blatantly being chummy with Roman. He realized Dwayne had lied to him, which is why he went out without his music even playing. The idea is supposed to be that he "went into business for himself" and went against the wishes of the company and declared against Roman with a live mic.
The idea is to set up the Rock as a corporate heel authority figure, a la Vince. Cody is acting against the "corporate interests" a la Stone Cold.
