>>13335802It's a pivot. There's no way that the company is stupid enough to let Cody win the rumble 2 years in a row, literally point at Roman, have the camera on Roman to see his reaction, and then just kill his push. Legitimately, they painted themselves into a corner because they wanted to push the Cody story but forgot that they also were pushing Reigns for his 1,000th win as well as keeping the title on him until he beats Hogan's record.
They then put the stupid convoluted and weak "Challenge me instead Cody!" story on Raw with Seth, then had Reigns absolutely shit on the Raw belt, completely devaluing it, along with Cody going "I'm not going to finish my story that I've been working on for years even WITH my golden opportunity to do so", brought the Rock out, arguably one of the biggest and most popular faces out, thinking it would make it okay, and it wasn't.
The backlash after the pop of excitement at Reigns v Rock on Friday finally hit, and people were PISSED. They bombarded Twitter with it and it carried over into Raw. Once they saw how much fans were truly upset on Raw especially, they had no choice but to pivot, which is exactly what we're seeing. They're using the negative heat the Rock has generated to push him as a heel and push Cody instead. The Rock heel turn makes absolutely no sense because it completely negates the whole concept of the "I'm coming for the head of the table" shtick from a month or so ago.
All in all, it is a complete shit situation. They're screwing Cody and they're screwing the fans.
